Evergreen acquires three Alberta MSPs amid booming IT market
Evergreen has expanded its presence in Canada with the acquisition of three managed service providers.
The company has acquired LAN Solutions Corp., Corporate Networks, and The ITeam, all respected managed service providers (MSPs) with a long-standing presence in the Alberta region and key vertical markets. These additions bring more than 80 technology professionals into Evergreen's Lyra Technology Group, broadening its reach and service capabilities in sectors such as recreation, oil and gas, education, professional services, and non-profits.
According to market analysts, the Canadian managed services sector is on a path of significant expansion, with annual revenues expected to grow from $9.2 billion in 2023 to more than $27.1 billion by 2032. This equates to a compound annual growth rate of 12.8%, marking Canada's market as the fastest-growing in North America.
Decentralised approach
A notable aspect of Evergreen's acquisition strategy is its decentralised, people-oriented model. Each of the newly acquired MSPs will maintain independent operations and current leadership. They will become part of Evergreen's wider structure, benefitting from increased investment and access to the company's shared resources and peer support networks.
The approach is designed to allow acquired companies to preserve their established leadership, company culture, and staff, while enabling them to leverage larger-scale strategic support. This is particularly relevant as increasing demand for cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cloud-based solutions is changing the expectations and requirements of IT service delivery across the country.
"Canada's managed services industry is experiencing a golden age of growth and innovation," said Elliott Hyman, CEO at Lyra Technology Group. "We are proud to welcome three of Canada's most respected MSPs into our family. Collectively, they represent the best of specialised local leadership, customer focus, and adaptability which are all qualities that are critical as the country's IT services sector is forecast to lead in global growth through 2030."
Market drivers
The rise of remote work, increasing digital transformation initiatives, and the rapid introduction of artificial intelligence into business operations are among the key drivers for this sector's growth. Managed security services currently represent the fastest expanding segment, as Canadian organisations devote additional resources to countering cyber threats and meeting compliance requirements. In 2025, Canada accounts for approximately 5.9% of global managed services revenue, underlining its significance in the international IT ecosystem.
The acquisition of LAN Solutions Corp., Corporate Networks, and The ITeam brings several notable credentials to Evergreen's group. These organisations are recognised for maintaining client relationships that frequently span over twenty years, demonstrating technical proficiency in managed data centre services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT consulting. They are also commended for staff retention and professional development practices, having been recognised with awards for service and tenure.
Comments from leadership
Speaking on the acquisition, Ahsen Butt, CEO at Corporate Networks, addressed the significance of company culture and stability during periods of change.
"We built Corporate Networks on long-term partnerships and a culture that puts people and reliability first. As the IT industry becomes more complex, Evergreen's approach, supporting growth while preserving our core values, was the right fit. With them, our clients and staff remain at the heart of every decision, and we gain the tools to help clients meet the challenges of today's cyber landscape."
Mark Allison, Founder of LAN Solutions Corp., spoke about the importance of continuity and growth opportunities available through Evergreen's model.
"Evergreen's decentralised model gives our team the continuity we value while opening new opportunities for growth. What set Evergreen apart was their patience, understanding, and commitment, not just to the business, but to the people who make it successful. I truly believe this partnership will boost opportunities for our team and our clients. Evergreen is not just acquiring MSPs, they're investing in our people and our legacy."
James Wagner, CEO at The ITeam, echoed the sentiment regarding continuity and the value of Evergreen's partnership model.
"The decentralised approach was the biggest differentiator for us. Selling to Evergreen means we can assure stakeholders there will be no disruption to our team or our customers. Evergreen has proven, through their team and strategy, that it's possible to join forces without losing what makes us unique."
Martin DesRosiers, Regional CEO North at Lyra Technology Group, commented on the company's ongoing Canadian expansion:
"I'm excited to welcome and partner with three new Canadian MSPs in Alberta. This puts us at eight MSPs across Canada and highlights our focus on growing and expanding in other provinces. If you're an MSP attending CanITCon in Kelowna from September 7-10, stop by and meet with the Evergreen and Lyra teams."
Evergreen did not disclose financial details of the acquisitions. All acquired companies will continue operating independently under the existing leadership structures.
