Peter Farkas returns as Chief Executive Officer of Percona
Percona has appointed Peter Farkas as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Peter Farkas returns to the company after several years elsewhere in the technology industry, bringing with him more than ten years of experience leading distributed teams focused on open source initiatives, particularly in database and big data technologies.
Farkas, who previously worked at Percona before moving on to other roles, expressed enthusiasm about his new role and emphasised his connection to the company's values.

Peter Farkas's recent experience includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer of FerretDB, a company focused on providing an open source MongoDB-compatible database. Prior to that, he had key positions at Cloudera, where his work involved driving product innovation and managing the scaling of engineering and operations teams.
Farkas holds a Master's degree in Management from the University of Buckingham, which adds formal academic experience to his technology and leadership credentials. His appointment is seen as a move to maintain stability in Percona's vision and provide experienced stewardship as the company continues to navigate developments in the database technology landscape.
